JONATHAN SACKS ALL RESIDENT DOCTORS


President Goodluck Jonathan has directed all Chief Medical Directors (CMDs) and Medical Directors of all federal government owned hospitals and health institutions to issue letters terminating the appointment of all resident doctors in training.

This is contained in a circular signed by the permanent secretary ministry of health and dated 13th August, 2014. This directive is with immediate effect.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan yesterday approved the appointment of new chief executives for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC). Mr. Jonathan chose Joseph Thlama Dawha as the NNPC’s Group Managing Director, NNPC. Mr. Dawha, who is from Borno State to replace Andrew Yakubu. Dawha will oversee the body that plays the key role in Nigeria’s oil sector.  Dawha is expected to retire from the NNPC in less than three months. In addition, the president appointed Anthony Ugonna Muoneke as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Petroleum Development Corporation; Ms Aisha Mata Abdurrahman as the NNPC’s Group Executive Director in charge of the commercial and investment portfolios; and Attahiru B. Yusuf as the Group Executive Director in the NNPC, with responsibility for business development. Woman Stabs Mother Of One To Death Over Chelsea/Athletico Bet

A woman stabbed her mother in the chest, at Old Ojo Road, Amuwo Odofin local government area of Lagos State, on Thursday over the soccer match between Athletico Madrid and Chelsea Football Club. The woman, identified simply as Funmilayo, was said to have made a bet that Athletico Madrid would defeat Chelsea while her neighbour, a man identified as Seun, said that the result would be the other way round. They agreed that Funmilayo bet with N1,000 against Seun’s N5, 000 and the duo agreed to respect their side of the bargain, as they gave the money to a woman identified as Anna. Investigations revealed that immediately the match ended in the night, an excited Funmilayo ran to Anna, demanding  the money. Meanwhile, Anna was said to have been shouting at Seun who had wrenched the money from her and left behind only N2, 000. An eyewitness, Martins disclosed that Seun demanded that Anna give N1000 to Funmilayo, because that was the amount she dropped for the betting.

Ogujor has taken a positive dimension with recent developmental strides currently in progress in the Polytechnic. Our reporters gathered that Engr. Prof. Emmanuel Ogujor until his appointment as Rector of Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara in March 2017, he was a Lecturer in Electrical/Electronics Department, University of Benin, Benin-City with area of specialization in Power Option. On resumption of office as Rector of the Polytechnic, Our Reporters were reliably informed that Engr. Prof. Emmanuel A. Ogujor clearly stated his vision for the Polytechnic which is to provide a conducive atmosphere for both students and staff of the institution and also to ensure the Polytechnic is ranked amongst one of the best in the Country in terms of Academic Excellence, Human Capital Development and infrastructural development.
