DELTA POLY RECTOR, PROF. EMMANUEL OGUJOR AND HIS LANDMARK ACHIEVEMENTS.

Information made available to Chukwuemeke Victor, an independent reporter, revealed that Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara under the leadership of Engr. Prof. Emmanuel A. Ogujor has taken a positive dimension with recent developmental strides currently in progress in the Polytechnic. Our reporters gathered that Engr. Prof. Emmanuel Ogujor until his appointment as Rector of Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara in March 2017, he was a Lecturer in Electrical/Electronics Department, University of Benin, Benin-City with area of specialization in Power Option. On resumption of office as Rector of the Polytechnic, Our Reporters were reliably informed that Engr. Prof. Emmanuel A. Ogujor clearly stated his vision for the Polytechnic which is to provide a conducive atmosphere for both students and staff of the institution and also to ensure the Polytechnic is ranked amongst one of the best in the Country in terms of Academic Excellence, Human Capital Development and infrastructural development.

Findings showed that, true to Prof. Emmanuel Ogujor's vision, some of his achievements within a short period are highlighted as follows: 
 
i. Building of a 3,200 sitting Capacity Auditorium which is currently the largest ever built in any tertiary institution within Delta State 
 
ii. Building of a standard water production factory (Satchet & Bottled water) with well equipped facilities which will serve not only the Polytechnic environment but also other parts of the State.
 
III. The purchase of a radio transmitter for Department of Mass Communication.
 
IV. Building of an office Complex for School of General Studies.
 
V. Purchase of equipment for paint factory situated in SLT Department where students have been taught how to produce different kinds of high quality paint which have been used to paint most of the buildings.
 
VI. Establishment of an Active Service Delivery Committee/other Committees which has led to greater efficiency and productivity within the Polytechnic.
 
VII. Purchase of Standard Laboratory Equipments for Science Laboratory Technology Department which has led to NBTE Approval for HND SLT Courses with different options in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemistry/Biochemistry, Biology/Microbiology, Microbiology, Environmental Biology and Physics Electronics.
 
VIII. Prompt Approvals of cash for Study, Staff Training, Conferences and Workshops.
 
IX. Building of Senior Staff Club for Senior Staff of the Polytechnic.
 
X. Purchase & Distribution of i-Pads mini laptops for Senior Staff of the Polytechnic to aid their research work.
 
XI. Empowerment of less privileged student with casual/menial jobs within the institution with little stipends to assist them financially in school.
 
XII. Provision of well furnished offices for the Governing Council of the Polytechnic.

Speaking with some of the top Management Staff of the Polytechnic including the H.O.D SLT, Mr. Isioso Isaac, the Chairman, Service Delivery Committee, Dr. Supreme Idama, the Head of Civil and Environment, Engr. Dickson Eghwatore and the Dean of Students' Affairs, Mr. Enudi Sam, they all confirmed the landmark achievements of the Rector and were all full of praises for him for transforming the school positively, and also stated that more projects are ongoing but have been slowed down as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
 
Efforts made to reach the School PRO for comments were unsuccessful as at the time of going to the Pres.
