Discovery- Scientist invents ‘robot’ that kills Ebola virus

RECENTLY, in effort to eliminate Ebola at the source, through use of innovative disinfection technology, two “germ-killing robots”  were deployed from the US to the JFK Hospital and ELWA Hospital both in Monrovia, Republic of Liberia, both hotspots of the Ebola disease outbreak. The robots, technically known as TRU-D SmartUVC, were used to disinfect health care environments where Ebola patients are being treated. Good Health Weekly gathered that TRU-D is the only portable UV disinfection device on the market with Sensor360 technology, which calculates the time needed to react to room variables such as size, geometry, surface reflectivity and the amount and location of equipment in the room and effectively deliver a lethal dose of UV-C light during a single cycle from a single, central location in the room. 26-yr-old man crushed while watching Falconets’ match

A 26-year-old man has been reportedly carcrushed to death  at a popular viewing centre along Sani Abacha Road in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, while he and several others were watching the Super Falconets of Nigeria and Germany Under-20  Female World Cup final. The incident, which occurred at about 1.30 am triggered pandemonium at the bar some distance from NNPC filling station as fun seekers and those watching the match  scampered for safety. Most of the eyewitnesses could not explain how the driver of the Honda Sports Utility Van, SUV, crashed into the crowd of football fans and fun seekers in the bar. The driver of the vehicle, it was learnt, had attempted to drive out of the car wash section of the bar where the vehicle was parked when it rammed into the crowd. A customary court in Mapo, Ibadan has dissolved a 17-year old marriage between Rukayat and Rasaq Muniru over their marital/sexual intercourse palaver, says NAN. The President of the court, Mr Ademola Odunade, in his judgment, held that the court dissolved the marriage because it considered the wellbeing of everyone important. The court held that it fulfilled the mandatory adjournments, but Muniru still refused to show up which meant admission of guilt. He ordered Muniru to pay a monthly feeding allowance of N6,000 as well as take responsibility for the education of the children. Boko Haram proclaims Islamic Caliphate in Nigeria. Boko Haram’s leader said he has created an Islamic caliphate in a northeast Nigeria town seized by the insurgents earlier this month, in a video obtained by AFP on Sunday. “Thanks be to Allah who gave victory to our brethren in (the town of) Gwoza and made it part of the Islamic caliphate,” Abubakar Shekau said in the 52-minute video.   He declared that Gwoza, in Borno state, now has “nothing to do with Nigeria”. “By the grace of Allah we will not leave the town. They are being sold at prices between N1.594 million and N1.990, the Group Managing Director of Stallion Automobile Division, Aprvir Singh, said .
