Family, friends, former colleagues and dignitaries gathered together for a night of tributes to honour late Prof. Dora Akunyili yesterday at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The ex Information minister died on June 7 after battling cancer. She will be buried this Thursday, August 28. 

Among the dignitaries who gathered to honour the late amazon were;

Minister of Health – Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu; Director General, Voice of Nigeria – Mall Abubakar Jijiwa;, National President, Nigeria Union of Journalists – Mr Mohammed Garba; President National Council for Women Societies – Mrs Nkechi O. Mba; Hon. Minister of Solid Minerals – Arch. Musa Sada; Hon Minister of Labour and productivity – Chief Emeka Wogu, Madam Onyeka Onwenu, Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano, Former Minister of Health, Prof A.B.C, Retired General Yakubu Gowon , Dr. Chris Ngige, Chief Victor Umeh.

Mr. Mba said the police is developing a new counter-terrorism strategy.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, on Wednesday in Abuja said international terror organizations use female suicide bombers in attacks because they are less suspicious. Mr. Mba, who was answering questions at the National Information Centre, said the use of females in suicide attacks is not new. “Established international terror organisations use female suicide bombers, the major reason is because women generally raise fewer suspicion, particularly when there are security layers. “If you have been following the trend of terrorism worldwide, you will understand that the use of a female suicide bomber is not new. “But, it is a new trend in our own part of the world”, he said.
