I Love My Husband, But Here's Why I Want to Cheat.

Image
I'm one of the lucky ones: I'm married to my soul mate. The first time I ever saw Nige, my heart caught in my throat and my stomach dropped faster than you can say "love at first sight." I was captivated, awed and knocked sideways by the depth of my attraction to him. We met during a life-changing workshop. He was an assistant, I was participating. Having clawed my way to life over the previous two year from an disorder that ravaged my soul and filled me with shame, I had learned to practice radical honesty -- especially when I didn't want to.  "Secrets keep you sick," my mentors said. I didn't want to be sick, so I went against all my instincts and told Nige and the group members in the therapeutic community he was co-leading of my attraction. read details here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/elloa-atkinson/i-love-my-husband-but-heres- why-i-want-to-cheat_b_5909882.html

Image
Members of the House of Representatives on Wednesday endorsed new amendments to the 1999 Constitution. A major highlight of the endorsement was the removal of the immunity clause for the President, the Vice President, the governors and their deputies. By implication, occupiers of the offices can be tried for criminal offences while still in office. A total of 252 lawmakers voted in Abuja to adopt 70 new clauses added to the constitution. The clauses were compressed into a constitution amendment bill already harmonised by a conference committee of the Senate and the House. The motion for the adoption of the conference report was moved by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Mr. Emeka Ihedioha. Ihedioha doubles as the Chairman of the House Committee on Constitution Review. Speaker Aminu Tambuwal presided over Wednesday’s session. A total of 261 members were present in the chambers when voting started. Out of the number, 252 voted to adopt the conference repor...

An Open Letter To General Muhammadu Buhari

Image
His Excellency General Mohammed Buhari.GCFR… Former Head of State of Nigeria. 10th October, 2014. Dear Sir, OPEN LETTER TO GENERAL BUHARI I have been constrained to write you through the media because I do not have an alternative way of reaching you. Permit me to share my opinion on your presidential ambition, which I think is equally shared by many Nigerians of my generation irrespective of ethnic or religious differences. Sir, I heard about you first on the 31st of December 1983. Then I was a ten year old boy in primary six, celebrating with the whole nation on the arrival of our military Heroes. At least so we thought! The jubilations were spontaneous. The nationwide celebrations signalled the demise of the second republic and ushered in the military dispensation commonly referred to as the Buhari/Idiagbon regime. Immediately you launched the War Against Indiscipline and introduced the Nationwide Monthly Sanitation Exercis...

WHAT HAPPENED TO LINDA IKEJI'S BLOG?

Image
Finally, the popular and renown blogger and mentor to all bloggers (permit me to put it thus) has finally clear the air following the allegation of LIB been removed from the its source. "To understand this I am going to start from the beginning but before that I want to talk about plagiarism. My understanding of plagiarism is when you take someone’s work and republish it verbatim as your own work. I don’t do that. But if I have ever done that in the past then I apologize. It was an oversight. I do get a lot of original content, way more than any other blogger in this country. Some of the biggest news stories in this country in recent times was broken by LIB. From Goldie’s death (God rest her soul) Aluu4, ABSU rape, P-Square saga, Solomon Akiyesi and plenty more. And when I take news from other sources, I always credit them. When I don’t give credit is when the news is everywhere so I write it in my own words and make it mine....

“I wish to assure you that I will not do anything to tarnish the image of Jesus Christ or compromise the divine standard of the church. “As you are all aware, the media has been awashed in the past few days about an unfortunate incident involving the movement of funds from Nigeria to South Africa. In the unfortunate news reports, attempts have been made to link me directly with the transaction. “So far, I have refrained from making any direct public response pending the time that I would have briefed the leaders of the church and explained my position on the issues to them. “I believe that the primary institution that I owe any explanation to is the church.” “At the risk of being seen to be defending myself, I wish to confirm to the distinguished leaders of the church that the Bombardier Challenger 601 aircraft in question is mine. The aircraft was presented to me as a gift by members of our congregation and ministry partners worldwide at my 40th anniversary of my call into the ministr...

Our appreciation also goes to Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, for the clarity and depth of his briefing. 2. Mr President, the people of Nigeria and indeed the entire peace-loving world were horrified at the gruesome murder of two American journalists and a British aid worker by elements linked to the Islamic State (I.S). Still on the Nigerian soldiers who were sentenced to death for mutiny.

Image
Twelve Nigerian soldiers were on Tuesday sentenced to death for mutiny after shots were fired at their commanding officer in the restive northeast city of Maiduguri earlier this year. A nine-member military tribunal, sitting in Abuja, convicted the soldiers following the incident on May 14 when shots were fired at the commanding officer of the Nigerian Army's 7th Division, which is tasked with fighting Boko Haram insurgents.
