and he approved 1.9 billion naira ($11.6 mln) of emergency funds to contain it.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan yesterday approved the appointment of new chief executives for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC). Mr. Jonathan chose Joseph Thlama Dawha as the NNPC’s Group Managing Director, NNPC. Mr. Dawha, who is from Borno State to replace Andrew Yakubu.
